St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is for the first time hosting the ARC+(plus) St Vincent 2018.

The Arc+ is an Atlantic Rally for cruisers which takes sailors across the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to the Caribbean via the Cape Verde archipelago. In the past, the event, which is organized by the World Cruising Club, culminated in St Lucia, however, this year’s destination SVG gained a presence as another option for participants.

The ARC+ St. Vincent 2018 which will bring 15 yachts with 70 crew to the destination commencing today Friday December 7. The crew members are accompanied by friends and family who are not required to register for the events.

During their stay, the visitors will be engaged in several activities inclusive of tours and excursions on St Vincent as well as to the Tobago Cays, Union Island and Mayreau. The ARC+(plus) St Vincent 2018 will culminate on Saturday December 15 with a prize giving ceremony.

The World Cruising Club organises ocean sailing events around the world; “the rallies are devised for the ‘average’ cruising boat and crew; helping people to realise their dream of making a long offshore passage.” The company was formed by Jimmy Cornell following the success of the very first ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) transatlantic rally in 1986.
