I recently did a big chop so that I can explore the natural world as I’ve always wanted to. I’ve discovered that I have quite a few hair textures to learn about, so that’s going to be a process. I’ve been doing my youtube research and I came across a video where a lady was doing a gell activator review. After watching it and the way the product surprised her and gave such great results, I decided to give it a try. The product I was using is still great (product name drop below) but in learning how to handle some of my textures I decided to go this route and see what happens.

Now everyone knows about the holding power of gel, but the problem is the dry crispy feel that your hair is left with after. The softee gel in the picture above I must say is quite nice. No flaking, great hold and not a bad smell either (a good substitute to the Eco Styler).

The activator gel was new to me as it might be to a lot of persons. It claims to” shape and define your natural curls, add body and shing with long lasting results”. In the video the persons discovered that it did exactly that and I share the same sentiments. It activates your curls almost instantly and alows your fingers to glide through your hair to give those nice finger curls. Your hair is left soft and very hydrated with little effort. Even when its dry, your hair is still soft to the touch. The only downside is that you don’t get that hold. The hydration goes a long way, so you don’t need to use a lot, just as much as you need to get your curls popping. Another great advantage is that these products go well together, so you can add some gel and activator together to give you that hold without the dryness. My finished hair is curly and juicy and well moisturesed with hold.

I was able to buy these 2 products for under $25. I would difinitly incourage persons to add this to their hair routine.

Note: If you use a moisturizer (which I do), make sure to put all products together in your hand to make sure they are compatible and don’t end up looking like wet flour. The product I was talking about earlier is none other than the African Pride Miracle Moisture Shea Butter & Flaxseed Oil Curling Cream which gives great curl difinition and hold.
